The Distinguished Alumni Award: recognizes graduates of the York University geography program for their outstanding contributions to geography. The nominee’s contributions can be in scholarly work, in teaching and education services at any level, in service to a community or an organization, or in work in the private and public service sectors. Eligibility criteria: Any York graduate with a major in geography. Candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by their peers

The Emerging Leader Award: recognizes inspiring and diverse graduates of the York University geography program who are making impactful contributions for positive change with their communities. The nominee’s contributions must demonstrate excellence and/or innovation with a focus on diversity and inclusivity, social justice and equity, or sustainability. Eligibility criteria: Any York graduate with a major in geography who completed their first degree at York University (geography) no more than 10 years ago (2011). Candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by their peers
